Youth is not a time of life,it is a state of mind;it is not rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees,it is a matter of the emotions:it is the freshness;it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite, for adventure over the love of ease.this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20.Nobody grows old merely by a number of years.we grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.Worry,fear,self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.
Whether 60 of 16,there is in every human beings heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living .In the center of your heart and my heart there's a wireless station:so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite,so long as you are young.
When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20,but as long as your aerials are up,to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at 80.
Thank you!

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. It’s great to be here. First of all, thanks for your coming. Tonight, what I am gonna talk about is innovation. Who can tell me what is innovation? We all know that, since 1978, China has been through the greatest changes brought by the reform and opening-up. So what we can see from the reform and opening-up? The power of innovation. That’s why I am here. I am here to show you my Chinese dream. I want to talk about the future and how we're going to win it. If we want to make innovation. But firstly, we should make sure that China is a place where we can make it if we try, where we can go as far as hard work and big dreams will take us. We understand that it’s not going to be a cakewalk, this competition for the future, which means all of us are going to have to do our best. We are going to have to win the future by being smarter and working harder and working together. Innovation is the spirit of our country, the motive force for our country’s prosperity.
Sparking the imagination and creativity of our people, unleashing new discoveries -- that's what China will do better than any other country on Earth. From the moment we have a new idea, we can explore it; we can develop it with a research grant; we can protect it with a patent; we can market it with a loan to start a new business. We’ve got a chain that takes a great idea all the way through. We must be confirmed that, today, the challenges we face are real.
They are serious they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But we will somehow find a way to overcome the difficulties. My major is XXX. My job is to discover or create new drugs for many diseases like cancer. You know that laboratory is the place where miracles happen. Believe it or not. What I do can save millions of people’s lives. For a long time, what challenges me is how to commercialize research. You come up with a great idea, but moving that new discovery from theory to practice or from the lab to the marketplace, that's re ally a big job. That’s what we should focus on.
We need to act with a sense of urgency-to study and work and create as if the fate of the country depends on us-because it does. It depends on us. Thank you!

Nothing succeeds like confidence. When you are truly confident,it radiatesfrom you like sunlight, and attracts success to you like a magnet.
It's important to believe in yourself.Believe that you can do it under anycircumstances, because if you believe you can, then you really will. The beliefkeeps you searching for answers, which means that pretty soon you will getthem.
Confidence is more than an attitude. It comes from knowing exactly whereyou are going and exactly how you are going to get there. It comes from actingwith integrity and confidence. It comes from a strong sense of purpose. It comesfrom a strong commitment to take responsibility, rather than just letting lifehappen.
One way to develop self-confidence is to do the thing you fear and to get arecord of successful experiences behind you.
Confidence is compassionate and understanding. It is not arrogant. Arroganceis born out of fear and insecurity, while confidence comes from strength andintegrity.Confidence is not just believing you can do it. Confidence is knowingyou can do it.Know that you are capable of accomplish anything you want, and liveyour life with confidence.
Anything can be achieved through focused, determined effort andself-confidence.If your life is not what you want it to be,you have the power tochange it,and you must make the changes on a moment by moment basis. Live yourpriorities. Live with your goals and your plan of action. Live each moment withyour priorities in mind. Act with your own purpose, and you will have the lifeyou want.

Good morning everyone, it's my pleasure to be here and talk about dreams and ambitions with you. When I was a primary school student I wrote in my composition that I want to be a scientist when I grow up. At that age I didn't know what is a scientist, nor did I know what is dream. I wrote it because it's a standard answer for a composition test. And I know if I wrote that I want to be a peasant I would be criticized and laughed at, no matter what reason I gave it. But now in university, one of my classmates changed my idea. At the career planning class when asked about our dreams, one of my classmates stood up and said, " I want to be a peasant because I grow up in a peasant family and I love it." No laughter, no criticism, he was the only who winned a clapping.
It sets me thinking, which should be a man's dream? a scientist, or a peasant? It's not a simple question and my answer is both. This is exactly my understanding of this topic. Dreams are something we really want and are willing to try every effort to achieve, no matter how great or how small, no matter how others think, it depends on you.
Life is long, and we are just on the starting point. Finally we'll understand life is not just about making a living. There're something much more important than money and material enjoyment, that is spiritual wealth, that is dream. It's the process of your pursuit of dream, the process when you are trying, when you are seeking, when you are struggling, when you failed and restarted again and again with your determination, hardwork, and perseverance that make you, build you, and help you to lead a worthy and significative life, whether you'll achieve your dream or not, the result is not that important.
Thanks for listening!

Dear teacher and classmates:
I am very glad to make a speech here in this class again! This time, I'd like to talk something about English.
I love English. English language is now used everywhere in the world. It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. Learning English makes me confident and brings me great pleasure.
When I was seven, my mother sent me to an English school. At there, I played games and sang English songs with other children . Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world.
Everyday, I read English following the tapes. Sometimes, I watch English cartoons.
On the weekend, I often go to the English corner. By talking with different people there, I have made more and more friends as well as improved my oral English.
I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America to visit Washington Monument, because the president Washington is my idol. Of course, I want to go to London too, because England is where English language developed. If I can ride my bike in Cambridge university, I will be very happy.
I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. I'll introduce China to them, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and Anshan.
I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study, one day I can speak English very well.
If you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable. So I believe as I love English everyday , it will love me too.

One windy spring day, I observed young people having fun using the wind tofly their kites. Multicolored creations of varying shapes and sizes filled theskies like beautiful birds darting and dancing. As the strong winds gustedagainst the kites, a string kept them in check.
Instead of blowing away with the wind, they arose against it to achievegreat heights. They shook and pulled, but the restraining string and thecumbersome tail kept them in tow, facing upward and against the wind. As thekites struggled and trembled against the string, they seemed to say, “Let me go!Let me go! I want to be free!” They soared beautifully even as they fought therestriction of the string. Finally, one of the kites succeeded in breakingloose. “Free at last,” it seemed to say. “Free to fly with the wind.”
Yet freedom from restraint simply put it at the mercy of an unsympatheticbreeze. It fluttered ungracefully to the ground and landed in a tangled mass ofweeds and string against a dead bush. “Free at last” free to lie powerless inthe dirt, to be blown helplessly along the ground, and to lodge lifeless againstthe first obstruction.
How much like kites we sometimes are. The Heaven gives us adversity andrestrictions, rules to follow from which we can grow and gain strength.Restraint is a necessary counterpart to the winds of opposition. Some of us tugat the rules so hard that we never soar to reach the heights we might haveobtained. We keep part of the commandment and never rise high enough to get ourtails off the ground.
Let us each rise to the great heights, recognizing that some of therestraints that we may chafe under are actually the steadying force that helpsus ascend and achieve.

Winston Churchill presented his Sinews of Peace, (the Iron Curtain Speech), at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri on March 5, 1946 .
President McCluer, ladies and gentlemen, and last, but certainly not least, the President of the United States of America:
I am very glad indeed to e to Westminster College this afternoon, and I am plimented that you should give me a degree from an institution whose reputation has been so solidly established. The name "Westminster" somehow or other seems familiar to me. I feel as if I have heard of it before. Indeed now that I e to think of it, it was at Westminster that I received a very large part of my education in politics, dialectic, rhetoric, and one or two other things. In fact we have both been educated at the same, or similar, or, at any rate, kindred establishments.
It is also an honor, ladies and gentlemen, perhaps almost unique, for a private visitor to be introduced to an academic audience by the President of the United States. Amid his heavy burdens, duties, and responsibilities--unsought but not recoiled from--the President has traveled a thousand miles to dignify and magnify our meeting here to-day and to give me an opportunity of addressing this kindred nation, as well as my own countrymen acrothe ocean, and perhaps some other countries too.
The President has told you that it is his wish, as I am sure it is yours, that I should have full liberty to give my true and faithful counsel in these anxious and baffling times. I shall certainly avail myself of this freedom, and feel the more right to do so because any private ambitions I may have cherished in my younger days have been satisfied beyond my wildest dreams. Let me however make it clear that I have no official mission or status of any kind, and that I speak only for myself. There is nothing here but what you see.
I can therefore allow my mind, with the experience of a lifetime, to play over the problems which beset us on the morrow of our absolute victory in arms, and to try to make sure with what strength I have that what has gained with so much sacrifice and suffering shall be preserved for the future glory and safety of mankind.

The word, friend, covers a wide range of meanings. It can be a noddingacquaintance, a comrade, a confidant, a partner, a playmate, an intimatecolleague, etc.
Everyone needs friendship. No one can sail the ocean of life single-handed.We need help from, and also give help to, others. In modern society, peopleattach more importance to relations and connections. A man of charisma has manyfriends. His power lies in his ability to give.
As life is full of strife and conflict, we need friends to support and helpus out of difficulties. Our friends give us warnings against danger. Our friendsoffer us advice with regard to how do deal with various situations. True friendsshare not only our joys but also our sorrows.
With friendship, life is happy and harmonious. Without friendship, life issad and unfortunate. I have friends in high positions and friends in the rankand file. Some are rich and in power. Some are relatively poor and withoutpower. Some are like myself, working as a teacher, reading and writing, contentwith a simple life. We all care for each other, love and help each other. Wefeel we are happiest when we chat and exchange ideas with one another. With myfriends, I know what to treasure, what to tolerate and what to share.
I will never forget my old friends, and I'll keep making new friends. Iwill not be cold and indifferent to my poor friends, and I will show concern forthem, even if it is only a comforting word.
