　　Two guys were walking through the jungle. All of a sudden, a tiger appears from a distance, running towards them. One of the guys takes out a pair of “Nikes” from his bag and starts to put them on. The other guy with a surprised look and exclaims, “Do you think you will run faster than the tiger with those?” His friend replies: “I don’t have to out run it, I just have to run faster than you.”

　　A man from the state of Chu was taking a boat across a river when he dropped his sword into the water carelessly. Immediately he made a mark on the side of the boat where the sword dropped, hoping to find it later. When the boat stopped moving, he went into the water to search for his sword at the place where he had marked the boat. As we know, the boat had moved but the sword had not. Isnt this a very foolish way to look for a sword? 楚國有個人坐船渡江時，他不小心把自己的一把寶劍掉落江中。他馬上掏出一把小刀，在寶劍落水的船舷上刻上一個記號。船靠岸后，那楚人立即從船上刻記號的.地方跳下水去撈取掉落的寶劍。他怎么找得到寶劍呢?船繼續(xù)行駛，而寶劍卻不會再移動。像他這樣去找劍，真是太愚蠢可笑了。

　　I Don’t Want to Walk Home

　　我不想走回家

　　Tom is a very old man. After dinner, he likes walking in the street. And he goes to bed at seven o’clock. 湯姆是一位老人，他喜歡在晚飯后到大街上散步，在7點回來睡覺。

　　But tonight, a car stopped at his house. A policeman helps him get out. He tells Tom’s wife, “The old man couldn’t find his way in the street. He asked me to take him in the car.”

It seemed so modest a request that the principal tree at once agreed to it, and it was settled among them that the plain, homely Ash should furnish what was wanted. No sooner had the Woodman fitted the staff to his purpose ,then he began laying about him on all side.Felling the whole matter too late, whispered to the Cedar: “the first concession has lost all ;if we has not a sacrificed our humble neighbor, we might have yet stood for ages ourselves.”

　　有一個樵夫來到森林里，要求樹給他一跟斧柄，看來他的請求非常謙虛，立刻得到了樹的首領(lǐng)的.同意。他們決定由平凡而樸素的白楊樹來提供所需要的東西。

　　樵夫剛按好斧柄，就開始到處亂砍，森林里的樹都砍倒了，樹林現(xiàn)在察覺大勢已去，就小聲對衫樹說：”第一次的讓步已失去了一切，如果我們不犧牲我們的小小的鄰居，我們自己還可以活無數(shù)年呢�！�

　　Ducking into confession with a turkey in his arms, Brian said, “Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. I stole this turkey to feed my family. Would you take it and settle my guilt?”

　　布萊恩抱著一只火雞，非�？鄲�，他說：“原諒我，神父，我有罪。我偷來這只火雞給我家人吃。你能告慰我的罪嗎”

　　”Certainly not,” said the Priest. “As penance, you must return it to the one from whom you stole it.” “當(dāng)然不行，”神父說。“你必須把它還回去，這樣才能贖罪。”

　　”I tried,” Brian sobbed, “but he refused. Oh, Father, what should I do?”

　　”It is a mantis,” the driver replied promptly. “This kind of insect only knows how to advance but not retreat, blindly underrating its enemies and overrating its own abilities.”

　　車夫連忙回答:“這是蝗螂。這種蟲子只知前進，不知后退，盲目輕敵，不自量力�！�

　　Hearing the driver’s reply, Zhuang Gong smiled to himself and remained silent. 聽了車夫的回答，莊公暗自發(fā)笑，默默無語。

　　The walking stick thrown down by him, being nurtured by the nourishment converted from his dead body, unexpectedly bloomed and fructified, and it grew into peach woods, which stretched for thousands of miles. 扔下的手杖，被他的尸體所化成的養(yǎng)料滋潤，竟然開花結(jié)果，長成一片連綿千里的桃林。

　　So she rolls the pumpkin to her home. When her mother sees the big pumpkin, she is surprised, “Oh, my God! How can you carry it home?” the little panda answers proudly, “I can’t lift it, but I can roll it.” Her mother smiled and says，“What a clever girl!” 于是她把那瓜滾回家。當(dāng)她媽媽看到這只大南瓜的時候，很驚訝：“天啊！這么食的南瓜！你是怎么把它帶回家來的'？”小熊貓自豪地說；“我拎不動它，可是我能滾動它��！”她媽媽微笑著說：“真聰明��！”
