The Death of Autumn

        The Death of Autumn

        by Zheng Zhengxi

        autumn has passed away

cause the cure is of no avail

        yet her age is unknown

        golden wreaths fill the fields

an autumn insect pays its respect

to her remains with its last shrill

        the village falls in silence

the dog-barks fall in silence too

the fallen leaves run spreading the news

        the scarecrows are so heart-broken

        the ant colony is discussing

about how to inherit her heritage

after carrying away the last autumn grain

        Love’s Secret

        Love’s Secret

        ——William Blake

Never seek to tell thy love,

        Love that never told can be ;

For the gentle wind doth move

        Silently, invisibly .

I told my love, I told my love,

        I told her all my heart ;

        Termbling, cold, in ghastly fears,

Ah ! She doth depart .

Soon as she was gone from me,

        A traveler came by,

        Silently, invisibly ;

He took her with a sign .

        愛的奧妙

        ——威廉-布萊克

        千萬不要傾訴你的'愛,

        愛只能深藏在心中;

        因為和風(fēng)吹拂時

        總是悄無聲息、無影無蹤。

        我傾訴了我的愛,我傾訴了我的愛,

        我向她敞開了全部胸懷;

        我顫抖、冰涼、恐懼異常,

        可她呢,她竟然走開!

        她從我這兒離去不久,

        一位游客便來到她身邊,

        悄無聲息、無影無蹤,

        把她帶走只憑一聲嘆息。

        飄來了丁香

        The Scent of Lilac

By Angela Ren Tr. Zhao Yanchun

I often roam in a drizzle

        And in a drizzle search

The drizzle is like a song care-free

But it has not brought me

        Lilac-like flowery words

Though it is pathetic and moving

        I stroll in ancient poems

And search in the sea of ink

        On the far-stretching shoal

        Are my

        Zigzaging footprints

        So plantive and indecisive

Today, I pace by the Goldwater Bridge

And fly in the blue sky

From the other shore floats the scent of lilac

        Just like

The warm sunlight of this winter

That gladdens the snow and frost

I gently put it on my heart

        My missing lingers

        Intoxicated in the dream

        I am a lilac

That blooms at the foot of the Great Wall

        Bursts atop the Ali Mountain

And weaves the dream of future

        With its delicate complexion...

        Never Forget Little Things

        little maids and little lads

every one wants to be honest

        only learns the following rule

        a bright future you`ll see

        little letter make a thought

        little thoughts make a book

        little drops make a trickle

        little trickles make a lake

        little seconds make minutes

        little minutesmake a hours

        little seeds make a tree

        and grow into fine flowers

        Walk with Me in Moonlight

        Leon Knight

        Come, walk with me

        in moonlight.

Well rejoice the close of day.

        Talk with me

        as moonlight sparkles dreams

        before our way.

        讓我們共享這暮色朦朧

        把柔腸細訴

        當(dāng)月光在前面的路上

        閃爍著夢想

        Draw closer in the moonlight;

feel warmth within my arms ?

        drink deep the cup of moonlight;

        drink deep the magic charms.

        月色中更緊地偎依

        你可感到我臂間的暖意

        深飲這杯月色

        深飲這神奇的`魅力

        Well learn poetry

        by moonlight

        (Hold back the falling moon).

        Well drink every drop

        of moonlight,

        Knowing the sun

        shall rise

        too soon.

        我們要在月色中體味詩意

        (將落月挽留)

        我們要飲盡每一滴月色

        因為太陽就要升起

STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING

        Robert Frost (1874-1963)

Whose woods these are I think I know.

        我曉得這片林子的主人是誰

        His house is in the village though;

        他的家在村子里

He will not see me stopping here

To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer

To stop without a farmhouse near

Between the woods and the frozen lake

The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake

To ask if there is some mistake

The only other sounds the sweep

Of easy wind and downy flake

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

        I can give you directions,

but I cannot be there to lead you.

        I can allow you freedom,

but I cannot account for it.

I can take you to church,

but I cannot make you believe.

I can teach you right from wrong,

but I cannot always decide for you.

I can buy you beautiful clothes,

but I cannot make you beautiful inside.

        I can offer you advice,

but I cannot accept it for you.

        I can give you love,

but I cannot force it upon you.

I can tell you about drinking,

but I cant say "no" for you.

but I cannot make you walk with God.

I can teach you about Jesus,

but I cannot make Jesus your Lord.

I can love you with unconditional love all of my

        life . . . and I will!

When I was a little girl,

I always dreamed of this day,

I knew the words off by heart,

I knew exactly what I would say.

        And I imagined my Daddy,

        walking me down that aisle,

I could see the look on his face,

I could see the pride in his smile.

But life doesnt always run to plan,

I guess thats plain to see,

and some things just go and happen,

some things are just meant to be.

But this is meant to be a happy day,

happier for others than for some,

and I just wanted to share some thoughts,

because I wanted to tell you about my Mom:

My mother has been my inspiration,

she has guided me throughout my life,

and there are some words that I need to say,

especially now that Im a wife :)

Youve always been there for me,

just when I needed you the most,

and in a moment, well drink to you,

in a moment, to you we shall raise a toast.

Because you have shown me what love is for,

and the love that two people can have for one another,

you have shown me how to be a devoted wife,

and of course, how to be a wonderful mother.

Those six years were very tough,

but thats just when the tough got going,

and you showed Dad all of your love,

and gee, you did a lot of showing !

Even though youve lost the love of your life,

(and this is one of those meaningful rhymes),

The Lord will give you all of His strength,

to get you through your more difficult times.

And I will also always be there for you,

if you ever need a shoulder or a helping hand,

divided we shall fall and be conquered,

but together and united we will make a stand.

And if you need someone to just sit and listen,

then Ill be there just for you,

because after everything youve done for me,

this is the very least that I can do.

Today, I felt my fathers spirit,

I could feel him proudly looking on,

I could feel his love for us all,

I could feel where his love brightly shone.

He just wants you to be happy,

I know this from deep inside my heart,

and he knows that he will love you forever,

and he knows that youll never truly part.

And all that he will ever wish,

and this my dearest wish too,

is that I have such a wonderful marriage,

and that Im loved as much as he loved you.

And today, my Daddys spirit was with me,

and he did indeed walk me down that aisle,

and I imagined the look upon his face,

and yes, it was a very proud smile.

Love is reason, love is madness.

Love is joy, and love is sadness.

Love is mission, love is strength.

Love is passion, love is peace.

Love is wonder, love is free.

Love is thunder, love is silence.

Love is prayer, love is kindness.

Love is sunshine, love is rain.

Love is tears, love is pain.

        Love’s eternal, love is change.

Love is cosmos, love is earth.

        Love is mountains.

        Love is dreams.

        Love is water.

        Love is winter.

        Love is……

        Love is……

        Love is all there is.

        Love is here.

        Love is now.

        Love is you.

        Love is……

        Love is……

        Love is all there is.

        When Day Is Done

        If the day is done,

If birds sing no more .

If the wind has fiagged tired,

Then draw the veil of darkness thick upon me,

Even as thou hast wrapt the earth with The coverlet of sleep and tenderly closed,

The petals of the drooping lotus at dusk.

        From the traverer,

Whose sack of provisions is empty before the voyage is ended,

Whose garment is torn and dust-laden,

Whose strength is exhausted, remove shame and poverty,

And renew his life like a flower under

The cover of thy kindly night .
